So you're willing to judge how good a game will based on one prerendered video and a couple of screenshots? I mean there isn't even a video of the real game in action, i will reserve my judgement until i see somehting other than teaser trailers.

Not quite sure what to say yet... Other than the feminine looking main character is a turn off O_o; I just hope the gameplay + storyline is good...

Maybe it's just me, but to me it seems like a regurgitated trashy storyline with the same world. Final Fantasy Advance Tactics - Same races as FF12. Hmm, weird. No Final Fantasy has had the same races (Unless they're human or something), and they're all non-linear. That's why FFX-2 caused such an uproar, it was untraditional, and just horrid. I think square-enix is losing the little talent they actually had, and just clinging on to FFXI for money. They've got to come up with something better than this. It's just pretty to look at.

Im not gonna judge yet either, but no final fantasy game has yet to truly let me down. I will never forgive Square-Enix if they get rid of Nobuo he's my favorite!!!!

a few months ago when i was looking around i found a site with like 20 ff 12 trailers...it wouldn't let me watch them all casue i wasn't a member, but there is alot of gameplay fotage out there if you look for it

personally i can't wait for this to come out, i already pre-rdered it^^

Like previous games of the Final Fantasy series, combat is menu-based. Like Final Fantay XI before it, and unlike the first ten games of the series, combat takes place on the same screen as regular exploration, with a seamless transition from exploration to combat mode. Combat unfolds in real time, using a new battle system called active dimension battle. Although a combat party can consist of multiple characters, the player may only control one character at a time. Any character not directly controlled by the player is assigned a "gambit": a tactical command that establishes a certain type of offensive or defensive behavior to a character. Alternatively, the player may switch to any character in the battle party and manually set commands for that character. So far, four distinct battle commands are known: Attack, Magic/Tech, Gambits, and Item. The game will also feature a system of chain bonuses. If a character kills a particular type of monster multiple times, that character will gain the chance to earn improved items after battle.

The Magic system is augmented by the introduction of a new school of "green magic." Green magic consists of supportive spells that enhance character statistics. In addition, summoning magic appears once more. Like final fantasy X, summon spells remove the battle party from combat, replacing them with the summoned creature, who can briefly be controlled by the player. Confirmed summons include Ultima, Hashmurim, Velius, Adrammelech, and Queklain. All of these creatures have previously appeared as either Lucavi in Final Fantasy Tactics, or as Totema in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

Final Fantasy XII takes place in the kingdom of Dalmasca on the world of Ivalice. Formerly a neutral party in the war between the neighboring kingdoms of Archadia and Rosalia, two years before the start of the game, Dalmasca was invaded and conquered by Archadia. Living on the streets of the Dalmascan capital, Rabanastre, an urchin named Vaan seeks vengeance for the death of his family and participates in an assault on the royal castle led by the Dalmascan resistance movement. In the castle Vaan encounters Princess Ashe, heir to the throne of Dalmasca and leader of the resistance movement.

Other major characters include Balthier, a sky pirate struggling to remain neutral in the conflict between Archadia and Dalmasca; his companion, Fran, a Viera warrior; Penelo, Vaan's best friend and a skilled singer and dancer; Basch, a former knight of Dalmasca responsible for the death of Dalmasca's king; and Ramon, a young nobleman with a mysterious connection to Maseki, the substance from which all magical energy is derived.

Judges, who first appeared in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, will feature prominently in the story. They are the supreme enforcers of Archadian law, and there are known to be at least five of them. In addition, four of the races available in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (Bangaa, Viera, Moogle, and Hume) appear once again, joined by a new race, called the Seeq.

and if you want to play some of the game to see the gameplay there is a playable demo coming out with dragon quest VIII in a month or 2

Wow that sure was a lot of words to describe a batle system that just sounds like a rip off of grandia 2 and tales of symphonia. Granted those went in to a battle map but I'm not so sure not going in to one is such a hot idea on a turn based game.

what game is turned based?
i know TOS isn't and FFXII is gonna be real time battles

According to square 7 has real time battles too, this battle system will more than likely be a lot like granadia 2s. Which isn't bad mind you it just isn't as revolutionary as square would have you think it is.

they say 7 is real time?...i could see them saying x-2 is real time...since you can attack an emeny while they are charging you but i don't see 7 as real time

enemys could attack you while you were decideing moves but you couldn't stop them once they started an attack

enemys could attack you while you were decideing moves but you couldn't stop them once they started an attack

Can you explain to me how real time and active time are different? It sounds to me like you're just pulling words out of your colon.

active time battles is the sytems used on earlyer types of games...it's uses the wait system or whatever it's called, the tiem gauge that you have to wiat to fill up before you can attack but what makes it active time is that the enemies can attack you while you are chosing what move you want your person to make

real time battles would be more like TOS and star ocean 3, you can only control one character, but you can move around the map and dodge attacks and counter enemies attacks and prevent them from even attacking you
