This is my very first RPG, even though I love actual RPG video games...I've never actually been in a RPG online. I've watched my friend though, fma997, play them. By watching her, I think I can get a pretty good one up. Just for fair warning to all; I AM VERY COMIC! I use comedy to spice things up a bit, just ask fma997! Ok, let's get the sign-up started!


History


The world isn't perfect, life can't always be mended back the way it was. Some people search for fantasies to fix their lives, like the Fountain of Youth, or the Elixir of Life. Some people, even though very talented, can't help but chase feudal efforts. The land of Cro-An, a world where magic roams and beasts wander. Even with all their science and magic, and cure-all means, they can never stop death. Beings of immortality, like sorcerers and wizards can't even escape death, especially when it's on five legs and has eight rows of razor-sharp teeth. Even immortality is useless when you're body parts are torn and put into five different stomachs.
The alchemists try to create things like the Philosopher's Stone or the Elixir of life, but their efforts are usually in vain. Some are wise enough to accept that death will come to them, but majority of them waste their life by doing wreckless and unprofitable activities and stunts.
Even fairies and elves try to protect themselves by isolating their communities and cultures from the others, but death never overlooks the lone wolves. Natural predators to these races have always somehow adapted to the traps and magic of their devious prey.
To some, though, life is hopeless and so they find that they could only serve. This group of slaves usually commits themselves to the militia of Byfen, following any orders of war and murder. These people are pitied by some, but others scorn them and hope the military gets annihilated by death itself. But, the military usually never gets beaten and is usually the one who is dishing out the death.
But there are those who resist the military, but at the same time accept death as an option by their own hands instead of by the army. One mage knight, in particular, travels around trying to right the wrongs of the militia. He had studied in many areas, like magic and legends, but one legend caught his eye the most; the Treasure of Byfen, or Byfen's Treasure.
The legend of Byfen's Treasure goes like this; at the beginning of time, there was a man named Bysitius, who enjoyed life as it came. He was a thrill seeker; never giving in to physical weaknesses and restraints. One time though, he went a bit overboard and slipped off the side of a cliff. When he thought that he was at the end of his young, foolish life, a maiden elf crossed his deathbed and pitied him. She used her powers to heal his fatal injuries and took him back to her village. As they got to know each other, they developed affection, and soon got married. The name of the elf was Fendran, and it was said that her beauty was unmatched throughout all of the land.
After they were married and happy, Fendran bore a child, but the child was beyond beauty; it was said that the child was an angel. But for some reason, the child could never speak, and that made her a bit of an outcast. One day, the child was fed up with the slander of her disability, that she ran to the very cliff where her father fell and journied deep into its casyms, never revealing herself ever again. When her parents went looking for her, they only found a mountain of jewels, which when broken off, would regenerate into stronger crystals. This lead to a lot of advancements in magic and science, for the gems were great alchemic amplifiers and even enhnaced magic and were strong when infused with even the weakest metals. The girl's name? I should've said towards the beginning, but I saved it for now; her name was Byfen, and these crystals were called the Byfen Catalyst.
But the darker sides of science seem to try and twist this legend into grotesque, rationalized form of the original. They say that if these crystals were fromed by Byfen travelling to the center of the mountain, that something greater must be where Byfen is. Maybe even the power of immortality, but the powers of the crystals make it impossible to even escavate to the original entrance, making everything a lost cause. But it seems, that some people just won't give up; remember our little mage knight I mentioned earlier?

Personality: Hates the army and his father, likes helping other but doesn't like them helping him, wants to find Byfen's Treasure
Bio: His father was in the military, and had made a very high rank off Brigadier General. His father always expected, and sometimes forced, nothing less of his son than joining the military and following in his footsteps. Too bad though, his son wanted to help those in need, and when he saw how the army treated those in need, he decided that the military wasn't an option.
After leaving his home, Stefan decided that he needed smoething to live for, so he researched many things, but the biggest things were magic and the legend of Byfen's Treasure. He read so much about the legend; always depicting every little detail in his mind, down to the minerals in the mountain that Byfen had wandered into. Although he tries to stay out of trouble, he can't help but aid those who are in pain from the militia. He hates them, even if his father is the leader of it, he stills despises them, and will never give in.
He had never hated his father, until he found a warrant for his death and execution by his own father. His heart and mind went blank, and all he could think of doing was resist the military even more, and make HIM pay.
Usually has a knack for getting into messes but most of the time can clean them up, but there are some people who can't get over what he did and usually pursue him. There are even enemies that Stefan didn't even know he had! But he's smart, and his magic is powerful, he can only hope those two things will save him from any dangerous situation.

Bio: She was apparently adopted before Stefan was born, and when she found that she was not going to be the only child, she tried to murder Stefan's mother. Even though she succeeded, the death of Stefan was a failure and he came to be. When she found that she had to live with him, she decided just to wait, because she knew a day would come...
And about eighteen years later, it did, and she is ready to kill her "little brother" for invading her "family". She is the head of command when it comes to hunting down Stefan.

Personality: Karea is a strange girl. She's bi-polar which means she's essentially two personalitys. Most often she's Karea the fun-loving alchemist who happens to latch on very tightly to any and all friends. But sometimes when she's unusually stressed or angry she becomes Morine the tempestuos (sp?) moody girl.
Bio: Karea enjoyed a happy life. She first developed the personality of Morine around the time she was six. It was the time that her mother went crazy and tried to kill her family as her mother was about to kill her (with a knife) Karea sort of folded up into herself and Morine emerged. She melted the knife with her alchemy burning her "mother". Then as it dropped from her hand she reformed it and killed her "mother". THe strange thing was that Morine was not six like Karea was at the time. She was a basically full-grown woman in the body of a child. She possessed a strange strength but by the time Karea turned sixteen there was no extra strength because she had matured so much. Eventually her split-personality drove everyone away including her father so Karea began to get lonely. She learned to hold on tightly to her friends and not let go she even went to great lengths to hide Morine from other people. She found Babee when she was seventeen and the dragon and the girl forged an immediate bond.

Weapon(s): The bladed gauntlet you see in the picture as well as a a single bladed variant on his opposite hand. Both of which have been enchanted by Uriel to drain the life force of anything they touch and add it to his own.
Birthplace: Akihos Cro-an
Pet: By his nature he attracts creatures that feed on death. However he keeps a number of centipedes around that he uses as magical batteries to feed his necromancy.
Personality: Cynical and sarcastic indivudal who tends to be a little aloof. His social graces are at best awkward, as he has spent most of his life reading for books and dissecting animals rather than talking to people. He bears that faint aura of death about him that all necromancers acquire, whether they want to or not, which tends to put people off when they first meet him, and indeed no one has tried to go beyond it. Like most necromancers, he has develop an apathy towards pleasure and happiness, preferring his studies to having fun.

Also in the mold of other necromancers, he has a irreverance towards the life, seeing it as almost pointless in its current state.

However, he is a deligent individual with a sharp wit and a rapier intellect, with an honest about him that would border on the naive if it wasn't so dismissal. His sense of humor is the quintessence example of morbidity and he seems to have a total disregard for the situation. A hard worker, he never stops short of obtaining his desires and he possess a determination that is willing to sacrifice not only himself but everyone around him if it will advance his goals. He has a track record of pushing his weak body to far.

Bio: Uriel was born the only child of two bourgeois parents, both of whom had at least an inkling of magical training. As soon as he was old enough to read, they arranged to have him board in the city library and take classes from some of the best wizards, wishing for their child a better life than their own. Physical careers had been rendered impossible because since he had been borne was sickly and weak of constitution so magic was only option. Before they left they told him, "Have a long life and grow wise and strong."

They died before Uriel ever saw them again.

As he studied and time past Uriel remembered and worked hard, studying study philosophy and religion to grow wise. However, he also turned to studying Necromancy. He soon came to the conclusion that with study and training he could keep his soul bound to the earthly plane for far longer than a normal human using the deathly arts. Necromancy, though, is a cruel mistress and requires the sacrifice of life force and gradually pulls its user into a state of undeath.

He spent days locked deep within the library vaults, taking several candles down at a time and only re-emerging when the candles had all melted. People who noticed his paling complexion thought that it was a combination of his sickly body and the lack of sunlight.

What damage this stress might have done to his body it had the opposite effect on his mind. His brilliance began to grow more eminent among his peers and soon he had surpassed even those several years older than him. His master still growing, he learned to manipulate his body through necromatic energy rather than through his muscles. This allowed him to overcome his sickly bodies and he began training in magical combat. However, people began to have suspicions when, despite now being seen outside more often, he remained pale. Some also began to wonder why his eye were no longer blue but were red.

However, it wasn't until Uriel was 15 that they discovered his overuse of necromancy, led down into the vaults by the growing number of maggots, centipedes and ravens. While necromancy, was not an illegal area of study, the level of use that Uriel depended on to maintain body was prohibited. He had to flee and has since lived a semi-nomadic lifestyle of traveling around to get more money with which to buy books, so that he can continue to live long and grow strong and wise.

By this point, Uriel has essentially become half undead and requires a constant stream of magic in order to keep his soul bound to his body. However, he has learned to cheat the balance between life-and-death enough to allow himself this much energy without an overly stressful drain on his remaining life force. In fact, he theorizes that he could maintain this body indefiniately.

Casting other spells however, require draining his own life force. However, he can normally cast a number of spells before his body gives out and he has to rest to let it recover.

One of the prices of these gifts, is that Uriel has lost all the senses of taste and touch.

Bio: She was born at Liour (or as you say it Lore) When she was young she was attacked by a werewolf with grizzly black hair. Her parents believed that she wouldn’t change into a werewolf, but when the autumn moon had risen, she changed and so her parents had to fight against the small werewolf. Soon everything clamed down as little Kally stood in front of her cowering parents in wolf form. She then ran away never to come close to them again. Since that day she didn’t want to attack anyone and she hunted for her food at night.

She then one day come to a temple and received a wolf from an unknown man, who by chance could be her father, because he was the only wolf pet owner in town.

Bio: Kitty was born at Liour (or as you say it Lore) When she was young she saw how her big sister Kally was attacked by a werewolf. The thing was huge and she couldn’t understand why it chose her sister of all things. She never saw her sister after she attacked her parents. One day her father went out with a pet wolf to the temple and came back without his loyal pet. She knew Kally had the wolf and she was still out there. Somewhere and she was going to find her. She however got a friend who gave her Gluttony the deamon and since then she became a Tamer of Beasts taking on her friends job and she is going to tame all the beasts she can find

Personality: friendly but a bit resevered, is weary of new people.

Bio: Mistha was born in the elven villiage on the forest she thats near her shop. She was the daughter of the two highly respected elves but when she was born a fault was found her ears were not elven but human. For a short while her mother was suspected to have laid with a human but since no human ever came to the villiage nor did she leave it that idea faded with time. Mistha was raised like any other elven child, learning to hunt and some of the elven magic which was mostly healing most of the other elven childeren treated her like one of there own and others shunned her. Though her father did not care much for her her mother loved her alot and thus it broke her mothers heart that after Mistha's younger sibbleing was born. she was forced to cast mistha out, mistha left without a fight and started her own little shop at the edge of the forest. She grows vegetable and herbs and try's to keep her true origins hidden while. her mother came to visit sometimes without her father knowing but after a while the visiting stopped Mistha could only geuse her father found out and forbid her mother to come.

Personality: Core was an emotionless demon and had no concern what-so-ever, but once he got “stuck” in the body of Jace Beleren he adapted some of his features.
Jace is smart, maybe too smart for his own good. His magic is all about the mind—telekinesis, clairvoyance, telepathy, illusion. He is naturally reserved, confident in his own abilities but not cocky. Jace's capacity for deception has led him to make some bad choices, but he has always managed to escape the consequences. The nature of his abilities means he must make difficult decisions about what's right and how his actions define him.

Bio: Core was once an immortal demon; he roamed free and killed his opponents on sight. He was feared beyond imagination but his reign didn´t last long. One day he just woke up in a body of a mere human. When he found out he is no longer in his body, Core took over the mind and body of his host: Jace Beleren. He killed the host’s soul and claimed his abilities for himself. Thanks to presence of Cores soul in the body the body became immortal, like his old one, and though Core had not his claws and razor sharp teeth at his disposal, now he had something even better. But there is also a dark side to his powers, if he uses them for too long or in too great amounts, he will lose consciousness because the body isn´t able to handle such power. But he also found out that he can divert into his demon form but only for a short period of time and he has no abilities (that he has as Jace).

To say its your first RP it looks great

Name: Harth Kadok

Age:20

Height: 6'4

Appearance: Harth is a tall powerfully built man who wears dark blue leather armour that is held together by a mess of straps and buckles. He usually wears a small blue cloak tied at the front with a broach showing a snake wrapped around a pair of crossed daggers. He has a striking face surrounded by a shock of long spiky green hair, which has a streak of white running through the middle.

**Job: bandit thief (secret sage)

Weapon(s): he carries two short and deadly stabbing knifes used to puncture through chain-mail and cheap armour. He always carries his trusty lockpicks. Also he is adept sage who uses magic in its many forms due to the golden Byfen Catalyst he carries everywhere.

Birthplace: The royal city of Argah.

Personality: Harth couldn't care less about anybody he meets, unless they want to join him. He is loyal to those from his village yet he despises anybody who holds any authority (even though he does himself). He is cocky and arrogant, loud and boastful, he loves life and loves living with simple pleasures.

Bio: Harth was born to a powerful family in the city of Argah (the rulers of the northern realms). However he was stolen as a child by bandits and held to ransom. His family never paid yet the bandit village peoples couldn't bring themselves to kill such a small child and so they brought him up as one of their own. He grew into a powerful and smart young man and greatly helped out in many of the bandit raids the village sent out to make a living. He found the Byfen Catalyst when out on one of these raids, but was forced to keep it a secret. The people in the bandit village (called Woodlands) hated magic as it was something they would never learn and so they scorned it. Over time he rose so far that he now leads his own band of men out on raids even though he is so young. His men love him and they are growing rich due to his clever tactics to raiding towns. Now the military are threatening his village and Harth has heard of a power that could change the world and so harbours dreams of setting off in search of Byfens Treasure...

Description: Golden brown, several clumps of hair lay in front of her eyes. Long hair, that reaches to the end of her spinal cord, is tied in a super loose pony tail only joined together by a clump of gold with a Kanji sign translating to bravery. Golden eyes stare at the world in its wake. It's glint capable of mesmering a young child. Above the honey eyes two thin eyebrows adorned the fair face. Underneath the eyes, but in the center is a small partisan nose. Her skin was of the fairest in women at this time. Hard muscles encased her bones. [Not very descriptive but...oh well.] Around her well-toned body a sleek, sleeveless, black-rimmed red ao dai dress is wrapped comfortably around her. Except, towards the bottom the dress turns into a flowerish pink and is cut short a little bit above the knees. Bare legs then continue her appearance. Toward her knees a small red boots cover her feet. A bit above the deep red boots a black cloth is wrapped securely around each of her ankles by a black tiny belt. Around her arms two black sleeves wrap around her fine-toned muscles. Amidst those sleeves a robe that matches the ao dai hangs from each arm from the arm to the knee.

Job: Help the helpless.


Weapon(s): She's got nothing but her bare fists to do the talking. Occasionally she'll carry a small spear.

Birthplace: Unknown

Pet: none

Personality: Keiha tends to be bubbly most of the time, she spends most of her time in quiet places, therefore most of the time she says nothing. However, when a challenge comes up, she'll gladly take it. She cannot stand watching others being beaten because of their weaknesses.


Bio: Her past is not very remarkable.
During her birth her mother had died. Because of this tradegy her father was the only one to take care of her. At this time they had lived in the center of the city however as the father grew old they decided to live outside by Avebury falls. While living in peace a man had suddenly appeared in the house, little curious Keiha had spoken to him. The old man then saw the small little cute girl and offered to teach her the art of fighting. She had accepted, ever since that point she had continued to grew stronger and stronger both mentally and physically. Her dad had gotten so old that he had died and left the house to Keiha. Since then she has gone by undisturbed.
She is now master at tai chi, this is beyond black belts. She is able to summon the earth's powers at her will and bend/shape any kind of ground on earth. She can come in contact with plants and animals of the forest to a certain extent.

Personality: Kind og cocky but with a strong sense of justice and pride about himself. He loves to fight and at time starts him own battles to test himself against others. He is a caring person with a attitude about people using weaker people. He protects and defends with his own body. That is why he was many scars around his body. Mainly his back.
Bio: Born without a name. Mizuki gave himself a name. Naming himself after a fighter from a book. He was orn a man without the gift of touch. He soon lost his eye sight and soon couldnt hear. However the man was the strongest fightern the world. He killed namy a men without even being hurt. This made Mizuki think and to be as strong Mizuki blinded himself. This caused him to gain a power known as the third eye. He can feel vibrations and hear a nail drop from miles away. He is all about speed and trained all his life to gain a new technique called flash fire. It uses the ecreased gravity to accelerate the body. This allows him to move at nearly super sonic speeds. Mizuki however has never used it to it full force. When conbined with his other techniques Mizuki can be a ture force to be afraid of.

Pet: A black kitten name Serene that is embued with magic
Personality: Generally on the hyper side, Celsa is smiling 90% of the time. She's optimictic to a punch but is also quite clueless. Some who know her wonder how she was able to become such a good Card Witch. She's very trusting and gullible as well, one of her major weaknesses is that she's also easily distracted.

Bio: Celsa was born into a family of magic users. Her mother a well known fortune teller and potions maker, and her father a wall know instructer of the deffensive arts of magic. Because of her being so gullible, Celsa was always at the forefront of jokes when she was little, but always laughed whenever she experienced them and said "Hey everybody's happy!". Once Celsa was able to pick which magic she would learn, she blew both of her parents away when she picked to be a Card Witch. The ar of using cards to summon creatures and magic wwas something that most considered a bit of an annoying magic to choose to master. Celsa used her determination and stuck to it though, and eventually became a wonderful Card Witch. Once She offically finished her training she was 17, and she decided to set of on an advture. After a few months she came across a little black kitten that was hurt, she nursed it back to health and it decided to stay with her so she names the cat Serene. Now she and Serene travel around on her broom stick looking for something that will hold her attention long enough to stick with it.

We have a total of twelve characters (not counting Byfen, since she'll only be at the end of the game.) I will probably accept at least four more players, and then post the map and all city ideas, area ideas, and character ideas will be cut off. However, before then, if anyone wants to have any romances in the story with other characters and it is ok'd by the player of that character, please PM me. Thank you all for being awesome!

Personality: Drake is a naturally calm man. He finds strange ways to adapt to the multitude of attitude hitches that others may have, which makes him an easily likable person. He jokes constantly in nearly any possible situation, and even though he is a calm man, his thirst for the blade is almost unparalleled by anyone of his kind.

Bio: When Drake entered this world, he was already faced with challenges that most are fortunate enough to avoid. He was orphaned at only 6 months old, left to die by his non-caring mother and father. One day, he was found by a woman named Hikari Kimachi, unconscious. He was blessed, awaking from that near-death state due to the care given to him by his new family. As the years grew, his body did, as did his ambition. He hoped that one day he would be albe to meet the parents that were truly connected to him by a tie of blood. He set off into the world, constantly staying in connection with his new family as he embarks on a journey that would bring him to his roots.

Alright, well, that's it. BTW Altarsian, don't you think it'd be kind of weird if romances were planned out in advance? I've been in a romance in 85% of the RPG's I've been in, and I know that it wouldn't be the same if things were planned.

I agree with ya, after thinking about it a second time through it felt a little silly to propose something like that. But just as a note of warning, Stefan is not up for romance; even though he is the main character, he will not be falling in love. Or, at least not until the end anyways.

Also, Kyuubi Naruto, you are approved, and look forward to some exciting sword action (even if the crossing is a misunderstanding between characters.) From the way your character sounds, it opens an interesting battle in my mind, since they are both twin-bladed swordsmen.

Ha, haven't had a one-on-one battle with another RPer in over a year! And not because I've been in a lack of RP's, simple because most had died before I was given that opportunity. If your up to it, then I can't wait. BTW, exactly when do you think we can get it all started up?
